In February 2008, Melissa settled into a cozy little apartment on the right-bank of the Seine in Paris. She has been trekking and performing across the French countryside and several citysides ever since, including a notable performance at the Moods in Zurick, Switzerland. Plans to release the new version of Camphor & Copper have been postponed for a late October release in France. The album has been left in the hands of producer and musician Matthew Ker (Majiker), producer and musician Lisa Patterson (Imaginit Music Studios) and mixing and mastering engineer Benedicte Schmidt (Labomatics Studios).
We are pleased and excited to announce that the album is presently completed and will soon go into pressing. Melissa also recently finished a photoshoot with Jean-Marc Lubrano for promotional materials, thanks to a grant awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts. This website will soon be changing in look and feel thanks to the very same grant. Check back around October for results of the work of web programmer Tony Gaitatzis.
Melissa currently performs as a solo and often a trio with Australian Oliver Smith on upright bass and French Sebastien Lete on drums and percussion. Upcoming performances include summer festivals in Angers (FRA) and Leon (MEX).
